SOG Specialty Knives & Tools
SOG is a top tier knife and tool company serving the Military, Law Enforcement, and Hunting community. They make really damn good gear and it was really awesome to work with them and help create an illustration that is an asset to their marketing and soft goods line. They really wanted a new take on their existing style and look. So I pretty much let loose and dived into their line of gear. Creating a skull that resonated well with their upcoming line. They were a real pleasure to work with and who doesn't like some badass skulls and knives.

Pukie the Clown an iconic character in the world of CrossFit. Yet this this time I opted to give it a more visceral and vibrant approach, Pukie is a character which is praised as an honor or challenge to CrossFit athletes for pushing themselves to the point of physical sickness where they throw up. As morbid as this sounds it "Spawned" an iconic character and badge of honer. So I wanted to make this character come to life to have a real visual impact on a shirt, a color dense illustration that carries the message of Pukie through and through.
Night Raid is a Las Vegas Based Stree Tuner Club focused on high end cars and custom built Japanese Import Race Cars. They wanted a unique design that reflected their style and method of taking on the street tuner culture. The mask came from the idea that they want its members to be like a clan, a group that dawns the mask and lives in the Tuner Culture. I wanted to make a visceral Oni mask that really hit that note.

Proof of Concept. A Plan B Board created in my own Style. Vibrant, detailed, clean, and fun. From an initial thumbnail sketch followed by a sketch to finalize the concept, and then hours pushing anchor points, and wearing out my Wacom pen. All with the intent of creating something fresh, something unique to my perspective.

The Grimm counterpart of John Wick. Wick being this Death Incarnate character I felt that a more badass version of the original Patch would be in order.
Defcon looking to expand their lineup and selection wanted to add a John Wick Inspired Patch. The Brief was pretty much up to my discretion which lead to me going full bore like Wick into the movies, lore, world building, and style that the Wick movies have. After some time I realized he is pop culture icon on the level of Agent 47 from Hitman and the human personification of Death. So I combined those inspirations to create a unique patch that really hits the badass level of John Wick.
Defcon Propaganda patch illustration. A badass German K9 themed patch for fans of K9 police dogs and with proud German Colors. Defcon wanted to expand their line of limited edition patches and this was a fun take on the previous AK bear patch design.

Defcon Propaganda wanted to continue to add to the success of patch illustrations we have worked on. This time we wanted to create a series paying homage to Star Wars. The first patch being a fun depiction of a Best Buy themed Land Crawler with Jawas doing their business as Droid Salesman.
Defcon Propaganda wanted to add to the Star Wars line up. Based on the prior patch illustration which also sold out quickly. The idea is a mix of homage and parody. This design was the follow up of when Storm Troopers blasted away the Jawas and the destroyed the Land Crawler. Overall a really fun project to be a part of.

Defcon Propaganda is a California based Gear and Apparel company. They reached out and wanted to create a unique moral patch based on the stylish Willy Wonka and the gun culture most moral patches are designed for. I spent some time re-watching the classic movie and soaking in all the aesthetics and bright colors. After some time overdosing on nerds and chocolate I came to the realization that Wonka is where we need to start, now how I would make a morale patch with him and still appeal to the end customer of Defcon. Now lets think for a moment, Wonka seems like the kind of guy to carry a giant hand cannon, so naturally a massive revolver fits his outlandish sense of style. Lastly the color palette and additional nods to the movie and gun culture came together. A big part of my process is trying to get in the brain of the person who ends up buying the product and then of course splashing some Vector Magic on top.

Defcon Propaganda wanted to add on to their line of patches, but this time they wished to create a more unique and in your face style that matched the tone of the words. The inspiration came from a mixture of lots of Heavy Metal, and thinking of people who stick their nose in your Business. Why not proudly wear a patch that gives them the proper heads up of how you feel about that.

Defcon Propaganda is a California based Gear and Apparel company. Part of us teaming up was finding new ways to create unique products that set them apart from the traditional patch and gear companies. We want to push a mix of badass vector art and Popular content. West World being a unique show with Cyborg Robot Cowboys was a clear winner for us. So part of my analytical process and research involved rewatching the show and taking vigorous notes to create a new style of Robot Cowboy Skull. Yeah it is that simple.

Defcon Propaganda having great success with previous designs I helped with, they wanted to add to that. The idea being a themed patch for Christmas, so why not go with the classic Krampus, the vile opposite to Santa Claus. Vectoring it up and putting the theme of Christmas on display in my own style.

This July we had Friday the 13th come by, but little did we know that it was also national French Fry day. So I combined the 2 and made a Fryday the 13th illustration. Fun little crossover to celebrate them both.
After messing around and making the Fryday the 13th illustration, I decided to continue with a fun illustration to keep the style and fun alive.
Deadpool, everyones favorite bad mouthed, chimichanga eating merc. Had to make something to fulfill my inner nerd between freelance projects.

This was a quick Captain America sketch done in to celebrate independence day. I am quite fond of July 4th as someone who was born in Venezuela but was very lucky to be raised here in the states. So much of what we attach to events or even ideas are so well encapsulated in heroes and characters. Most of my youth was much like a lot of kids here in America was spent in comics, movies, video games, cartoons, and so on. Which in itself is a privilege we often take for granted. So with this sketch I drew cap to really bring back a bit of that.
Newest version of Tony Starks iconic suit. Introduced in Infinity War. Gotta love his attitude and take on being an Avenger. Had fun with this one, I like to take sketch breaks between client work to just have some fun on the iPad and sketch whatever nerdy ideas comes to mind.
Spidey sketch done to commemorate the passing of Steve Ditko. Co-Creator of Spider-Man. Thank you for all the good reads and fun times spent watching Spidey. Spider-Man was probably the only Marvel comic I picked up when I was a kid, plus I spent countless hours playing the Spider-Man game on PS1. So a big nerdy hug to Steve and his work.

Me being a huge fan of Akira Toriyama and his work I felt I had to add my own twist and style while being recognizable. So as part of my free time projects I would illustrate each character from the epic and classic Manga (Comic Book) and Animated show. Each illustration is done by hand first and then vectorized in Illustrator. Each one will be added to my limited run of prints as a way of sharing my love of Akiras work with fellow fans.

My favorite movie of all time is Snatch. Which has an eclectic cast of characters each with their own defining visual aesthetic and style. One of my favorite characters (Mickey O'Neil) played by Brad Pitt is referred to as a "Pikey" a gypsy of sorts. He sports two tattoos on his chest of a funky cat that has a top hat. I found myself wanting to create a version of that really was more within my style and taste. So Vectored up a savage little Pikey Kitten. For sure this will be part of my sticker line up.
Part of the ODS Sticker series. A pooch full of creative bite.
My inner animal a Bearded Ox full of creative rage. Powerful and ready to lay out some vector lines. One of my personal animal characters where I fuse my vibrant style with a fun beastly twist.
Another fun addition to the Creative Rage Stickers. Every morning I am blasted in the ear by a Rooster begging me to create more art. A mash of Vector lines and cocky colors.
The Po... Vector slinging monkey of our Art Department. A visceral and viral monkey. Full of Creative Rage. A friend of the Sticker series made by yours truly.

Freddy Correa and I run a Podcast called Thanks for the Invite. We both do Stand Up Comedy in Las Vegas and this podcast revolves around the community here in town and in LA. The design came down to us both being apes with a podcast. I wanted the style to be vibrant, strong, and colorful. I created a custom Type and style for the Logotype. The ape design is both in a full color and one color variant. This helps with multi Medium use. Make sure to check out the Podcast and be prepared to be shocked and laugh.

Core Blend Training is an athletic Gym based in Georgia, they contacted me looking to create a custom Shirt that they can use in their gym, and could be sold to their clientele. The goal was to create a style and aesthetic that was fun, vibrant, family friendly, and still able to convey what it is they do. I spent some time researching their location, their gym, and some of their back story. I was able to find out they have a Gym Dog who is a Labradoodle. A really cute dog that was the perfect fit for the project. I based by initial sketches on this idea and went from their. After finalizing the sketch I created a Vector illustration that popped and really could be used well on a shirt. Overall a fun project that really let me take creative control and create a solution for a great client.

Product Development for Alpha Iron Press a Texas based Apparel company, they reached out wanting to create a a new apparel illustration geared towards Crossfit lifters and the Crossfit Culture. I spent some time talking to the owner and getting a feel for theme and style they wanted to go with, they wanted an illustration that really hit that Conan the Barbarian or old school D&D book covers. From there I got great inspiration from Conan and created the WOD Slayer, a victorious here holding Kettlebell Skulls while perched on top of a wood workout box while wearing a weighted vest. All nods to what is called a "WOD" or Workout of the Day. The type had to fit the rough and barbaric theme, so Stone was the way to go. A mix of Conan and the Crossfit Culture all melted together to create a unique product.

Harley Davidson has a great wealth of art behind them, so having the opportunity offer my own style was great. This poster would focus on the growing popularity of Cafe racers and their aesthetic. From the at home garage guys who love to work on their bikes to that retro helmet with the bubble face shield. This skull would have a more fun retro style while holding strong to the Harley Davidson roots. The emphasis on simplicity with one color, but still have my won detailed visceral style.

Randall Thompson a Las Vegas Comedian needed a podcast cover. The idea was a combination of fun zombie brainstorming and some creative input on my part. The goal was finding a way to visually connect with Randall's style of comedy. Playing not only on his attitude and word play, but adding int a visceral and expressive use of color, and line weight.
Jason Halpin contacted me to create a Dr. Who Wedding Invite. I could not say no, and was excited to create a fun invite that not only celebrates their nerdy marriage, but played into their wedding theme. A really fun project overall. Thanks for checking out the work. A big hug and a high five.

A proof of concept to showcase a new and more visceral illustration of the Rock Bull. Currently Under Armour has a Bull Shirt that is simply the Logo the rock uses. This illustration is more in your face and detailed. It also has a more intricate layout that draws the eye. It still retains the recognizable yellow used by the Rock on his signature shirts.

Comedian Manfred Hein reached out to Orozco Design to create a custom apparel illustration to be used as part of his merchandise during shows, and when he is on tour. The initial idea was to be a fun, relaxed image of him, after some time finding out what would work best with his appearance, his interests and his comedy he put forward the idea to make an illustration of him on a Motorcycle, having reviewed some of what he likes about motorcycles, I based the illustration on the artistic style of Ed Roth, a very well known Artist in the world of low brow and the muscle car scene in America at its height. The initial sketch was approved and from there I inked and colored digitally in Adobe Illustrator, overall the images fits his persona well. From the type face used and theme.
Client: Manfred Hein
Comedian Matt Dorman contacted me to create a Logo and an illustration, firstly the Logo was meant to have a tone that was both vintage and fun, one that lives up to the comedic styling of his comedy group. League of Extraordinary Nobodies is the name of the Comedy Group and the Logo, they hold shows which I have had the pleasure of performing on.
The illustration has a personal touch to it, Matt is not only a Veteran but he also suffered from PTSD, to the point the he attempted to commit suicide, which the firearm ended up misfiring. That being a very deep and emotional part of his life, however as a comedian he wanted to create a unique shirt that was both illustrative and touches on his past. One side of the king being the possibility of him being killed or the other him not going through with it, on the side where the bullet goes through is the contents of his comedy, words that best describe his mind set and style on stage. Overall a very unique illustration that I had the fortune to be a part of.
Client: LXN - Matt Dorman
Comedian Brent Mukai requested a unique business card design, one that involved a custom illustration of him and his very funny and iconic face from his podcast. The design would be of a Marvel Trading card, making him a Hero and at the same time making it a unique business card that he can use. The main references came from the original cards. Brent was first drawn by hand the rest done on Adobe Illustrator.

Brute Powerhouse is a Startup Gym Based in Las Vegas, they contacted us to create an Illustrated Logo that would be the face of the Gym and used as merchandise for the gym. Brute wanted a unique take on a Gym Logo, something that uses more of a visceral and Unique style; especially something we are known for. We proceeded to draft up some ideas that would have a very in your face style, which we prefer and typically do. We wanted to find what it meant to be a Brute, what does it feel like to expel power. Having looked at many ideas, we decided to go with a custom Gorilla, this was the best way to emphasis Brute, yet give it an Ogreish aesthetic, this really helped it standout and have that Dark Brute style.

Raskol requested a refresh on one of their original shirt designs, this time they wanted a more up to date and fresh take on the original. This time they wanted my touch to it. After spending some time looking at various USSR propaganda images, and posters I came up with this, a very visceral and brightly colored design that was uniquely concise and strong; not only in an obvious sense, but through the message and style.

"Megin" old Norse for Power & Ability! Thor the God of Thunder laying down the power with his epic Hammer MjöInir against the Serpent Jörmungandr his arch enemy! This is another addition to Raskols Nordic line of shirts. The entire Mythos line has been a great success overall and this is a continuation of that same line.
Client | Raskol Apparel
Raskol apparel has had great success with many of my illustrations. The Mythos line has been very well received and this is a continuation of that line. The pitch here was to keep the colors down to one, but still have my signature expressive dense lines that can show off the power behind these timeless characters. Beowulf being such a classic in Nordic mythos and Sagas it was a clear choice. However I wanted to change things up a a bit, I wanted a pose that was emblematic to his lore. Here he has Grendel's head after cutting it off with his blade. A slight change from the story, but still one with a visceral finish. VEGR is old norse for Glory and power. The type was a custom and had to fit not only the style, but still retain the Old runic appeal. Overall the natural progression from sketch to vector illustration, and final product were conceived by me. Having a clear strategy of what a product is and how it connects with an audience is key in my design thinking.
Client: Raskol Apparel
Hercules one of the most iconic and prolific characters of Greek Mythology, a powerful and brutally strong figure. Raskol Apparel wanted a Greek based illustration to add to their line. They wanted a significant pose and one that could be remembered. Which meant looking into the 12 labor of Hercules, one of which was him defeating the Cerberus, we agreed that would be a great illustration, but finding out how to make it unique and still hold that Greek Pottery Art that is so famous. Melting my own approach with that of the artists from Ancient Greece lead to this illustration. There are two versions one being the Cerberus and the other the Chimera, both hold a flat style with a symbolically strong pose by Hercules, which really grabs that Greek Taste we all love. The type is based on a condensed Sans Serif, but with a twist of rough edges, easy to read, and fits well with the vertical layout. The word is Greek and is a direct translation of Power.
Client: Raskol Apparel
Raskol Apparel wanted to add to their Greek Mythos Lifting Line. They had great success with prior designs and they wanted to compound on it. This time with the legendary story of Milo of Croton. Now, a little history lesson for everyone. Milo was an ancient Greek wrestler, the greatest of his time. A 6 time Olympian. There is a fable that Milo got stronger by carrying a baby cow up a mountain everyday to train. As the cow grew up, it got heavier. Milo kept carrying the baby cow until it became a bull. Hence the play on words with "Progressive Overload" a known method of training in gym culture.
Client: Raskol Apparel
Achilles one of the most iconic and prolific characters of Greek Mythology, a stoic and yet flamboyant character. Raskol Apparel wanted another Greek based illustration to add to their line. They wanted to continue the same aesthetic as Hercules, yet have a more recognizable pose and a more action based pose. I spent some time reading and researching Achilles, looking at Greek Historical Art, reading the amazing work of Homer, looking at actual Greek Armor used in that period, using various references and historical context. Of course melting my own approach with that of the artists from Ancient Greece lead to this illustration. The type is based on a condensed Sans Serif, but with a twist of rough edges, easy to read, and fits well with the vertical layout. The word is Ancient Greek and is a translation of shock, fear, and or shocking, in Modern Greek it is Theos or Deos as in God.
Client: Raskol Apparel
Ares!! The God of War, the bringer of Wrath, the killer of Titans. Raskol wanted to add to their Greek Mythos Line Up, Ares being such an iconic god of Greek Mythology was a no brainier. The style is consistent with the overall collection; borrowing heavily from Ancient Greek Pottery and paintings. The main restriction being that it has to be done in one color, this adds a level of challenge that pushes me to create a simplified yet identifiable design that is unique to this collection. Part of the process was finding a way to create an iconic pose while displaying Ares killing Ekhidnades. The type is Ancient Greek and translates to Rage and or Wrath. This adds to the unique style, and adds more authenticity to the illustration. The best part of the Greek series has been the great response by not only the Raskol Audience, but my audience as well.

LIft4Life contacted us with a unique project request, they wanted a very unique and one off illustration to be used for a great cause; Lift4Life is a Non Profit that focuses on opening Power Lifting Gyms in poverty stricken areas around the world. Their goal is to spread the sport of Power Lifting and help communities through the sport, this was something we were very flattered and honored to be a part of.
With that said we set out to really make a very custom and detailed illustration, the concept was a mixture of various ideas, however making them work was key, Atlas is the iconic Greek Titan that embodies strength, but we wanted to make something different, so splitting Atlas between wood and stone shows growth and stability, the globe is a greek star globe symbolizing the vast space in which Atlas (Lift4Life) looks to hold up and help.
Please do make sure to check them out and buy a shirt, or donate. Their cause is a great one that is worth being a part of. Client name is linked to their site

A revamp of the previous Old School design. Here we wanted to play on the iconic Circus Lifter. I decided to add my own taste and style to the illustration. Focusing on a great character and vintage type. I spent quite some time referencing old circus photographs and pictures of Circuses. Finally I compiled all my references and created an illustration that reflects that and still has some humor behind it to connect with Raskol's audience.

If Rene and hamlet had a super buff statue baby. In essence a smash of different styles merging together to create a unique apparel illustration. Raskol wanted another statue like illustration, this time a bit of a different take. I opted to use a more distinct style that had some depth to it. The final illustration was received quite well.
Client: Raskol Apparel
Raskol gave me full creative control for one of their latest apparel releases. The idea I pitched was a humorous one that makes fun of the "Bro Science" in gym culture. Raskol being a Gym apparel brand really let this style of illustration and humor work well. Rick and Morty and some back to the future were the main pop content that inspired this illustration. Overall it was a simple and unique take on gym culture.
Client: Raskol Apparel
Following Dirty Bulk Raskol wanted to add on to the well received first illustration. They wanted a counter part that would add on to Dirty Bulk. The characters and complete design was all done to be fun and witty, playing on the gym culture, and obssesive culture regarding diets and food. We mad sure to draw out all the idea and made sure to use colors that would pop well. Steak, Broccoli, and Corn, all healthy foods turned into Gym Bros, or stereo typical people you would see at the gym. Overall a great project that we are very proud of.

Raskol requested a fun and laid back design playing into the fun joke of gaining muscle mass by eating 'dirty foods', which is a running joke int he lifting community, after spending some time working on an initial idea and gathering the proper colors to be used and the food in the design I came up with the following. A very jovial style all around with colors that are bother high in contrast, but also play directly into the foods. Great for Apparel and Posters. This illustration came out great and was a solid design for its respective end buyer.

Milhouse from the Simpsons has a very unique and funny quote regarding why Lisa left him. Simply put it was his Calves. This being such a memorable moment from the Simpsons is what inspired this apparel illustration, Raskol Apparel wanted another Roy Lichtenstein inspired illustration, but this time with a Simpsons twist. part of the concept was to stay true to the iconic Roy style we all appreciate, yet have a clear visual cue that it is Milhouse, which lead to keeping a simple line aesthetic and of course recognizable colors as well. Firstly the sketch was done by hand and from there it was redone as a vector in Adobe Illustrator. Simple, iconic, and fun.

Following the very successful apparel illustrations done for Raskol, they contacted us again to make a third installment into the Roy Lichtenstein series. This time they wanted a different approach to the line up, so we we opted to create the iconic Roy crying girl, but add some humor and wit to the illustration. We wanted to connect to Raskol's audience while still maintaining this iconic style, we did everything first by hand; as we always do, and pitched the idea to Raskol, they loved it and the illustration was used. Overall another great team effort between us and Raskol.

Have you ever seen a guy so jacked, so buff, so ripped, so shredded, that you have to assume he is on something, well this shirt says it all. The epitome of the envy sometimes found in the culture of weightlifting. Raskol Apparel wanted another Roy Lichtenstein design after having success with 'Cardio, is that Spanish?'. The initial idea was for a sequenced comic book frame, but after some feedback from both Raskol and the customer base of Raskol, we opted for a single frame design that fit the full scene. Using Lichtenstein's color theme and imposing the high contrast he is known for I was able to convey that classic look and still add my touch to the overall Illustration. This is a must have for any Lifters who like having less than serious yet fun gear to take to the gym.

'Hammer Head Shark + Hammer Curls = Hammer Time'. The process involved sketching and writing out the idea. The inspiration came from Street Sharks and was the basis for the idea. Me being a kid raised in the 90's loved this show and had to pay my respect to it, now once the idea felt right, I took artistic liberty in a digital sense. The final product is a vibrant, high contrast design. Great for Apparel and Posters. This illustration came out great and was a solid design. Overall it was "Jawsome"...I will show myself out.

Snake Hound Machine reached out and requested an original illustration to help Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer, the top rated charity that provides real help to children suffering from cancer and funds vital lifesaving research to end childhood cancer for good.
So with that said I felt that this was a great opportunity to help and use my talents and skills to help others. The idea was for a fun simple illustration to be used in a patch, which all profits go to the Charity. I can ramble on and on about the design, but really this is about helping and donating. To do so you can buy a patch through Snake Hound or donate directly, links to do so are below.

Snake Hound Machine contacted us to create a patch design that would fit their style and aesthetic, they are a company that offers top fo the lien firearm parts and custom gunsmithing, they also have a deep passion and apprecieation for Metal Gear Solid (one of our personal favorites), this was a no brainer as far as ideas, but they wanted a minimal design that would be easy to understand and plays on the Fulton Recovery system found in some of the Metal Gear games. Snake Hound Machine was very pleased and is realsing the patch on their site.

A really fun Podcast logo for really funny Comedian based in Seattle, Washington. The design was for a simple yet cartoon style podcast logo that brought out Richards sense of relaxed humor and personality.

Logan is proud Canadian, a man who embraces his Canuck Pride. He didn't even use his claws to cut wood. This Illustration was a play on Logan from X-Men, which he is indeed Canadian, Raskol Apparel being based in Toronto Canada took great pride in this illustration. They gave me complete Creative Control to come up with the the theme, layout, and aesthetic. However Omar Isuf, provided a great deal of final input to get the true Canadian touch needed to make this all work.

Shredded a spin on Shredder from TMNT. A fun illustration made to have an intense Japanese Ink feel, with a twist. Shredder from TNMNT was the base inspiration for this illustration, we wanted to step away from the fun aspect of TMNT and make a more serious illustration, we made sure to have a visceral in your face appeal.

"A vicious attack on your fears and obstacles, simple, high contrast, and epic." This illustration was requested to be minimal yet very in your face, visceral and specifically use Ink Splatters as per the "TRIUMPH" Design theme. The initial process involved sketching out the layout and basic outline of the characters in the illustration. As usual a lot of creative mind melting went into encapsulating the essence of what it means to "Conquer". How do I visually display that feeling with the limitation of Ink, blood, Warrior ethos, and minimalism. The outcome was very well received and really helped carry the message.

"Destroy" a term used frequently in the hardcore gym goers vocabulary. Why you may ask, because when you absolutely have no other word better to describe what it feels like to lift some serious weight and walk out ok. The sound of Barbell contacted me and wanted a one off custom illustration that was one color, simple, but had my signature visceral style that would grab attention. So after some sketching, and hand lettering I was able to come up with a design that really met the desired aesthetic and feel that The Sound of Barbell was looking for; which was a grungy distorted look, with a clean cut to it. Needless to say the simple look was a success.

"A human touch in a modern world" This was a brainchild of mine from a sketch I create in my spare time. I like to write down my dreams and then make sketches based on them. So this illustration was based directly on just that. The idea was for a robot figure who is very rigid and modern to have human tendencies. Almost in a warm touching way. This of course came down to me creating it all from scratch and finding the right feel. The color scheme was created a strong contrast which plays into the idea, the red circle is a nod to a heart, but of course robotic, the flower is an organic and fragile item that represents the human aspect of the idea. The Typeface was selected by Omar Isuf. The Illustration and layout was by me.

Solaire from Dark Souls in a Tarot Card Design, but flexing? Yes, a unique fun design to merge 3 worlds in one. This illustration, was spark of imagination that just popped into my mind and we ran with it. Originally the concept was only to use Solaire, but I decided to add a different approach to finding the solution. With most design or illustration work, the ideas can take time to come up with, but this illustration was a lighting strike. The idea being fun, and fitting to the Raskol Brand.

You ever go to the gym and see the typical "Gym Bros" who always try to hard? Well this fun illustration makes fun of them in a Miami Vice way. Using the original Vice colors to really show off your typical human male peacock at the gym. The overall idea simple, but the execution was meant to be funny, and in comic book style. With almost all Raskol projects the ideas come in and I take creative liberty to create the design.
